The Hotel Amadeus is located in a quiet side street 200 meters from St. Stephen's Cathedral in the center of Vienna. In this historic area the Roman camp Vindobona (from which Vienna takes its name) was to be found some 2000 years ago. On the site of the present hotel the legendary inn "Zum Roten Igel" was built in the early 19th century. It became known as a meeting place of famous artists and musicians, among them Franz Schubert, Moritz von Schwind, Johannes Brahms and Alexander Girardi. Today this same address is known as a place where artists, intellectuals and businesspeople as well as tourists visiting our beautiful city feel comfortable and at home.
